How does a CheaterBusting search work, step by step?
1. You describe who to look for
You add one clear photo, the city they live or work in, and anything else you know: name, nicknames, age range, sex, who they’re interested in, and other areas they spend time. You also give us your email. The photo and the city are the core. Everything else helps rule out look-alikes.
2. You pick the apps and see your date
Choose from Tinder, Bumble, Hinge, OkCupid, Grindr, Badoo, Plenty of Fish, Facebook Dating, Match, Raya, Tantan, and Happn. The apps you choose set your package, and your report is guaranteed within 21 days, however many you pick, or 7 days with Express. You see the price and the date, then pay once.
3. We check each app in their area
We look for profiles near the areas you gave us on every app you chose, and run the same checks on each one. We only look at what’s publicly visible. We never log in as anyone, never ask for passwords, and never contact the person.
4. We compare the face first
Photo matching runs on every app. The face is the hardest detail to change on a dating profile, so it carries the most weight. Name, age, sex, and area then work as cross-checks. Each one either backs up a resemblance or exposes a look-alike.
5. We weigh agreement and conflict
Clues that agree raise confidence, and clues that conflict lower it. A strong face in the right city with the right age range earns a higher note. A matching first name with no clear photo stays low. Recent activity or updates are noted when the app shows them.
6. We write down what we couldn’t confirm
Every match lists its open questions, such as whether the photos are recent or whether the profile is still in use. If nothing matched, the report says so and names every app we checked.
7. Your report arrives by the guaranteed date
The report is emailed to you by the date shown at checkout. If it’s late, you get a full refund. With a 30-day re-scan, we check the same apps again 30 days after your report and send a second one.
What does the method leave out on purpose?
- Phone number, email, and username lookups of the person you’re checking. We don’t search that way.
- Passwords, login codes, device access, and messages.
- Tracking or location surveillance.
- Contacting, messaging, or warning the person.
- Any attempt to see profiles their owners have hidden, paused, or snoozed. [1] [2] [3]
Each of these would cross a legal or ethical line, and none is needed to find a profile that’s publicly visible.
Why photo-first instead of name-first?
A name is a weak way in. Tinder says you can’t search for a specific person, and Hinge shows each member a feed of recommendations rather than a search bar. Names on profiles are easy to shorten or change. A face, compared across every app in the right area, is a far stronger starting point. [4] [5]
How do we keep results honest?
- Every match carries a confidence note with its reasons.
- Every match lists what we couldn’t confirm.
- Lower-confidence profiles are labeled as lower confidence.
- Nothing-found reports name every app we checked.
- We never call a match proof, and we never treat an empty report as proof either.
