Bumble shows no “last seen” or “active now” label. Learn what a Bumble profile can and can’t tell you about your girlfriend, and what to do next.

Bumble won’t tell you. Its help center says Bumble doesn’t show when members are online or when they last used the app, so there’s no “active now” or “last seen” label to read. A profile that shows up live in a stranger’s feed isn’t deleted or snoozed, but it can’t tell you she opened the app this week. You can read the photos, city, and dates.

Maybe a friend sent you a screenshot. Maybe you saw her face in a swipe deck. She told you the account was gone, and now your stomach is in knots. That’s a hard place to be. Let’s sort out what the profile does show, what it doesn’t, and what to do with it.

Does Bumble show when someone was last active?

No. Bumble’s help center says there’s no “active now” or “last seen” indicator, whether or not Incognito Mode is on. Tinder is different. It shows a green dot for people who were online in the last 24 hours. On Bumble you have to read the profile itself.

What does “still active” really mean?

It bundles three questions that have different answers:

Is this her? Photos, name, age, and city answer this.
Is the profile visible? If it appeared live in a stranger’s feed, yes. Bumble says a deleted account is no longer viewable, and Snooze Mode hides the profile.
Did she use Bumble recently? A screenshot almost never answers this.

Most of what people see answers the first question. Some of it answers the second. Almost none of it answers the third.

An old profile can sit there for a long time. Bumble says deleting the app from a phone, or going quiet for a long period, doesn’t delete a profile. It stays until the account is deleted in Settings.

How do you read a screenshot or a friend’s sighting?

Start by writing down the plain facts: who saw it, when, and whether it was live or a screenshot. A date on an image is the day someone captured it. It isn’t the day she last used the app.

Then look for things you can place in time:

Photos from after you got together. A haircut she got last spring, a trip you took together, the jacket you gave her. These show the profile has been updated since.
A bio or prompts that match her life now. A job she started recently, a pet she got this year.
A city that matches where she lives now. Treat this as a clue to who, not when. The city on a profile can come from her phone’s location or from what she typed in.

Be careful with how the sighting happened. Bumble shows each member people who match their filters and who are near their phone’s location. So a friend who lives or works near your girlfriend is more likely to see her. A friend far away may never see her, even if the profile is live.

If a friend taps “Recommend to a friend,” Bumble says the person isn’t notified, and the link only opens inside the Bumble app for someone with an account. A screenshot or a written description works better. Don’t ask anyone to make an account to look, and don’t ask a friend to match with her.

Three made-up examples show the range:

Strong: two photos from your trip last month, her first name and age, and a city that fits her life. This deserves a calm, direct conversation.
Old: her face, but in photos from before you met, next to a bio about a job she left. This points to a leftover profile.
Look-alike: a similar name and city, but dark photos you can’t compare. Treat it as unconfirmed.

What if she says Bumble is “deactivated”?

Bumble’s help pages on taking a break and on deleting an account don’t use the word “deactivate.” They describe a few different things.

What she may have done	What Bumble says happens
Took the app off her phone	The profile stays.
Used Snooze Mode	The profile is hidden for 24 hours, 72 hours, a week, or indefinitely. She can keep chatting with existing matches and set an Away Status. Matches without an active chat expire.
Used Incognito Mode	On Premium and Premium+, only people she has liked can see her. It also hides her location.
Deleted her account	It’s no longer viewable. Support can restore it for up to 28 days.

So a profile you saw live was neither deleted nor snoozed that day, at least not for the person who saw it. That doesn’t mean she lied. She may have used the word loosely. A calm, precise question works better: “When you said you deactivated Bumble, did you delete the account or hide it?”

Could it be a friends profile?

Sometimes, and it depends on where she lives. In the US, Canada, and Mexico, Bumble moved friend-finding out of the dating app into a separate app called BFF, so a profile in the main Bumble app there is a dating profile. Elsewhere, BFF mode is still part of Bumble, and Bumble says a BFF profile is separate from a dating profile.

If her profile is on an app built for dating, ask what she hoped to find and why she didn’t mention it. A friendship story can be true and still leave you hurt.

Does a Bumble @handle change anything?

Only a little. Bumble’s handles are available only to members in the US using iOS. A member picks one and anyone verified in the same country can open her profile by typing the exact handle. You can’t search by name, a near-miss spelling, or browse other people’s handles. She can switch on “Hide me from search” at any time, and anyone using Incognito can’t be found by handle.

So a handle helps only if she made one and you know it. If you do know it, don’t make an account just to look. Bumble’s Community Guidelines don’t allow impersonation or misrepresentation.

What can a private search add?

A lot of Bumble questions are really “is she on any app?” A Bumble profile search checks Bumble using a clear photo and her city, with her name, age range, and the areas she spends time to rule out look-alikes. The report shows each possible match with what lined up, plus a confidence note. Bumble shows no online status, so we never guess at activity. We note recent updates when they’re visible. We also can’t see snoozed or Incognito profiles, since those aren’t publicly visible. If nothing matches, you get a clear “nothing found” report listing every app we checked.

For Bumble alone, your report is guaranteed in 3 days, with the date shown before you pay. A late report means a full refund. A match is never proof of cheating, and nothing found never proves she isn’t there.

How do you bring it up?

Wait until you’re calm and have privacy. Start with what you saw, not with a verdict: “A friend sent me a Bumble profile with your photos on it. I want to understand what it is.”

Ask whether it’s snoozed or deleted, since only one of those removes it. If she says it’s left over, ask her to delete it with you. Deleting takes a minute: the profile icon, the gear icon, then Delete account at the bottom of Settings.

FAQ

Does a green dot or “active now” exist on Bumble?

No. Bumble says there’s no “active now” or “last seen” indicator on the app. Be wary of any tool or person who says they can show you when someone was last on Bumble.

Can a snoozed profile still be seen?

By strangers, no. Snooze hides the profile. Existing matches can still chat, and she can choose whether to show them an Away Status or stay invisible.

Can a deleted Bumble account come back?

For a limited time. Bumble says a deleted account stops being viewable right away, and its support team can restore it for up to 28 days.

If a friend sees her profile, does she find out?

No. Bumble says people aren’t notified when their profile is recommended to someone else. That is separate from whether she hears about it from a friend in conversation.

Does a newly added photo prove she’s using Bumble?

It suggests the profile was updated after the earlier screenshot, if both screenshots are complete and dated. It can’t show who added it, why, or whether she has talked to anyone.
